How to Get to Azul?

Directions to HOTEL AZUL OCEAN CLUB from Liberia Airport:

Distance: 60 miles/100 kilometers (drive time 90 min.)

• Turn right onto the highway towards Santa Cruz.

• Just prior to entering Santa Cruz & crossing the bridge, turn right towards Playa Junquillal and Playa Tamarindo (paved road). Drive 16 km.

• *At the fork in the road, bear left toward Veintisiete (27) de Abril and Junquillal.

• Go 0.4 km, turn right toward Junquillal and Rio Seco. You will see your first sign for HOTEL AZUL OCEAN CLUB. There will be others every 6-10 km. Drive 8.2 km.

• Take a left toward Marbella, Ostional, and HOTEL AZUL OCEAN CLUB. Drive 0.8 km then turn right. Drive 21 km and you are there! (This is a dirt road; however they are continuing to pave many new roads in Costa Rica so this may change.)

• The entrance to the resort is 4 km beyond Marbella.

Directions to HOTEL AZUL OCEAN CLUB from San Jose Airport:

Follow the signs west to Santa Ana and Escazú . On the main highway to Santa Ana and Escazú (Próspero Fernandez) you will have to continue driving on the highway # 27 with direction to Caldera. From Caldera/Barranca you will have to continue going on the North direction and follow the signs to Liberia, but you have to take a left at the Shell Gas Station because you have to get to Santa Cruz thru the Puente de la Amistad. After the bridge, when the road ends, turn right towards Santa Cruz. In Santa Cruz look for the gas station on the right hand side of the road (it is a good idea to fill your tank up here), after this Gas station you will cross over a small bridge. Take the NEXT LEFT to PLAYA TAMARINDO, Drive 16 km.
